Excellent enjoyable marketing management book
I was taking a course in small business development and operations. Two books were assigned. When this book arrived from Amazon, I sat down to give it a glance.A few hours later, I had completed the book. Why? It was fascinating, interesting, easy-to-read and reinforced many points I had made before a college business instructor. The book had many real-life examples. It focused on marketing management and provided useful information. It was not too long, nor was the book only a one hour read.I can see the book being used in marketing, management and business strategy courses. The contents fit the title very well. Strongly recommend.

It was a fundamental book that did not illustrate a sales process which was my primary interest. It was also written from strictly a sales perspective which had little profit/loss type discussions that complicate the sales process and options.

Generalities, not much specific practical help
I own my own company and have managed about 10 broker-type salespeople for many years and recently have decided that I want to learn more about how to be a better sales manager, so have been starting to read sales management books. This one, I didn’t care for. Very general stuff here. I can’t imagine that anyone who’s existed in any type of sales organization for more than a few weeks wouldn’t have already figured this material out.. “You should have a mission statement” … Really? The author has a lot of sales management experience. I wish he would have shared more of his specific techniques, and less about general things that you can read in 100s of other sales books.

Refreshing advice from the real world!
I’ve read a copy of Mr. Treace’s book and have found it of great benefit in building my sales organization. If you are in medical device sales, the real world examples and solutions provided will help you avoid lots of land mines – it has for me already. Really practical stuff, not “consultant, or academic-type” info if that is what you are after. You can tell the author has “walked the walk”, maybe made some mistakes and learned. It will always be a stand out in my library. Looking forward to the next!

Solid book with essential learning points
I’ve worked with the author in a corporate partnership arrangement early in my career, so I already knew he had a strong reputation and successful career. I was excited to read a book he had written, which I found to be chock full of good pointers. There were a number of pages that I bookmarked and will be good reminders to myself as I plan to review them every so often. It’s nice to have leaders pass on what they’ve learned so that those who follow can benefit from them. Definitely pick this book up to read and hold onto!Charlie

High Level
